M° SAINT SEBASTIEN FROISSART
“The contemporary art UFO”, "unclassifiable", "multifaceted", Alexandre Farto aka VHILS the young Portuguese star of contemporary art, exhibits a brand new set of artworks in Paris from October 11th to November 15th, 2014.
From walls to metal plate, from cork to wood, paper, video compositions or billboards VHILS proves in this exhibition his technical skills and his unlimited daring material choices. He is not limited to a single medium and he shows his capacity to invent and recreate endlessly. In these works, with a unique style, the artist mixes the human with the city in a very poetic way. Being close to abstraction, VHILS combines new patterns to his intense portraits.

|This Leads to Fire: Russian Art from Nonconformism to Global Capitalism, Selections from the Kolodzei Art Foundation Collection|
September 14, 2014 - January 11, 2015
This Leads to Fire features selections from the Kolodzei Art Foundation, one of the most extensive collections of nonconformist and contemporary Russian art in the world. The exhibition includes works ranging from the 1950s through the period of Glasnost and contemporary art. It is organized into five parts that explore the origins of Nonconformist art, the developments of Moscow Conceptualism, Sots Art, the influence of the Russian avant-garde in geometric abstraction, and the coercive legacy of Socialist Realism. This Leads to Fire familiarizes viewers with an important and underappreciated body of work, but also demonstrates the challenges these artists still pose to both mainstream Russian culture and the globalized art world. The exhibition is curated by Sarah Warren, Associate Professor of Art History at Purchase College, the State University of New York and coordinated for the Neuberger Museum of Art by Patrice Giasson
