and AFTER THE OPENING...Let's have diner together or at least in the same restaurant.

Laurence Neron-Bancel has sent you an invitation from 6-8pm for the opening of "Exposure" where she will show her collages.
Then there is a restaurant, walking distance, very close to the gallery, not too big with an Italian flavor.(We've already tried it on a previous evening in Chelsea, it was perfect). If you want to book a table for you and your friends, this is very easy:

513 West 27th Street
New York, NY 10001

(212) 967-4392

I made my reservation for 8:00 pm using www.OpenTable.com and this is very convenient

Naima writes...
Since 2005 Naima has been a magnet for the West Chelsea social scene. Simply elegant, this former garage is re-imagined as a subtly-lit minimalist composition in glass, wood, stone, & white washed brick, with a sky-high ceiling. Add the authentic Italian menu, & you can't resist checking out this chic but relaxed restaurant & bar. Simple, fresh & genuine - family recipes from Naples & Capri inspire Naima's menu. Savory, substantial starters served with fresh bread & dips, main courses ranging from fresh pastas, to delicate seafood dishes, to eclectic & comforting risottos, classic desserts like crème brulee & chocolate fondue, & more, fill the vegetarian-friendly menu.
Dinner at Naima is an adventure to talk about over your espresso & grappa, whether you are enjoying a party at the long wood banquette or an intimate supper for two at a romantic corner table. Most often overheard, "THIS is ITALY."

Samir, Alessandro & Roberto Voutto welcome you to Naima. Buon' appetite.

About Canstruction

***attention to the LOCATION : WORLD FINANCIAL CENTER****nov 20th -dec 2nd

Canstruction® is an international charity competition where architects, engineers, contractors and students they mentor, compete to design and build giant structures made entirely from full cans of food. At the close of the competition all of the food from the New York City competition will be donated to City Harvest.

New York City is joined by 100 cities across North America who will hold Canstruction® Competitions in the coming year. Highlighting the creativity and compassion of top architectural and engineering firms, these astounding structures are helping to change the world – by lifting the spirits of those in need, by raising public awareness, and most importantly, by collecting millions of pounds of food for local food banks.

Structures are exhibited in the Winter Garden and Courtyard Gallery of the World Financial Center, 220 Vesey Street and the West Side Highway. There will be a total of 40 structures in the exhibition. 22 structures located in the Winter Garden will be on view from November 20 – December 2, from 7am – 11pm. 18 structures located in the Courtyard Gallery will be on view from November 20 – December 8, 9am – 5pm. Both the Winter Garden and Courtyard Gallery will be open during the Thanksgiving Holiday. The public is invited to bring a can of food to donate to City Harvest at that time.

All Student Group Tours must be reserved in advance by emailing education@actioncenter.org. Please reference booking code: CAN08 in the subject line. There must be one chaperone for every 5 students. Students must be on their best behavior as there can be no risk of damage to the structures.

The New York City Canstruction® Competition is now in its 16th year thanks to the hundreds of volunteers, contributors and participants who dedicate their time and talent. Complete listings of firms, jurors, contributors and committee members are available in the Downloads section.

The New York City competition is Co-Presented by the Society for Design Administration New York Chapter, the AIA New York Chapter and arts>World Financial Center.

What else in Paris: LE CORBUSIER

After a visit to the Fiac, this visit is on my "To Do List" and this might be a beginning of LMNY In Paris or LMPARIS!

A message from Gregoire GANTER

A message from Gregoire GANTER

Dear friends:

I am participating in Vida's market this weekend and would love to see you there.

Vida's market is the first market in New York dedicated to selling original items for children, babies and expecting moms and showcases a great group of young, up and coming designers.

I will be showing prints and cards from my Lea's Alphabets collection, as well as unveiling a new line of magnets based on my designs.

YES, fridge magnets!!! You read correctly.

In addition to keeping your kids busy for at least 15 minutes at a time while you (cook, read your paper, drink your coffee, you know the drill...) these magnets will help your children learn their alphabet and items they may find in their fridge. A is for apple, C is for corn, S is for strawberry etc... At $23 for a full set, they make great gifts as well.

Vida's market:
Saturday October 18
@ The Greenwich Village School (courtyard - rain location is inside the school)
116 W. 11th St
from 10am to 6pm.

For more information and a map, please visit the news and notes section at:
or www.vidasmarket.com

See you Saturday!!!!!!

Here is another work of art I'm thinking to select for the Show @ CERES GALLERY Chelsea, dec 9-13
