Art on Paper opens this Thursday on Pier 36 with eighty-five galleries from around the world presenting tightly curated exhibitions of paper-based art that demonstrate the diversity of the fair's namesake medium.

Art on Paper's third edition welcomes back notable exhibitors including Catharine Clark Gallery presenting collage by Stacey Steers and ink on paper by Josephine Taylor, Richard Levy Gallery with a 2016 silkscreen portfolio by Alex Katz, Nancy Hoffman Gallery showing 1970s photography by Don Eddy and watercolor on paper by Joseph Raffael, Margaret Thatcher Projects presenting steel on cardboard by Ted Larsen and collage by William Steiger, FMLY showing graphite on paper by Ryan Travis Christian, Other Criteria presenting metal on screenprint by Gavin Turk and new work by Damien Hirst, Electric Works presenting new acrylic on paper by Dave Eggers, LOOC Art showing Peter Wayne Lewis' painting on Chinese paper, Sasha Wolf Projects presenting new photography by Kris Graves, KOKI ARTS showing ink on paper by Amanda Valdez and collage by William Steiger, ex-chamber museumpresenting Wataru Ito's paper on panel constructions, Traywick Contemporaryshowing sculpture by Nancy Mintz, and C.G. Boerner showing woodcut prints by Georg Baselitz and a suite of etchings by Richard Tuttle.
Art on Paper also welcomes exciting 2017 newcomers including Bookstein Projects, Inc. presenting colored pencil on paper by Stephen Antonakos, Kraushaar Galleriesexhibiting historical work by Dorothy Dehner and William Kienbusch, Tamarind Institute showing new multiples by Rashaad Newsome and Nicola Lopez, Pentimenti Gallery showing photography by Judy Gelles, PDX CONTEMPORARY ART showing D.E. May's colored pencil on found paper and new work by Nancy Lorenz, hpgrp GALLERY presenting sculpture by Yuken Teruya and Lina Uchida, Katharina Rich Perlow Fine Arts exhibiting a 1938 watercolor by John Helion, and david lusk gallery showing mixed media on paper by Anne Siems.
