FASNY Summer Reading Festival.
Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff, Alumni, Alumni Parents, New Parents and Trustees and all Westchester Accueil Members
Welcome to our exciting fundraising project :
FASNY Summer Reading Festival.
On Wednesday, May 28, FASNYPAT is joining with Barnes & Noble for a special one day fundraising event. The Barnes & Noble store at 230 Main Street, White Plains will be the host store. Any purchase (excluding gift cards) made that day will be added to our running total – books, stationery, magazines, games, gift wrap, cards, CDs, DVDs, even cafe purchases (morning coffee, lunch, an afternoon gouter…).
How does FASNYPAT make money from this event ?
FASNYPAT raises funds by getting a discount in the form of a cash-back, varying between 10% and 20% depending upon our final tally that day. (Please note : online sales are **not** included – you must make any purchases that day in person at a Barnes & Noble store.)
More good news : purchases made in any store in the U.S. that day can be added to our total. (Please see below for instructions under « Who can participate? ».) So be sure to let friends and family know across the country about this event!
What will the money raised go towards?
Last year FASNYPAT donated funds to a Lower School project called the Leveled Reading program. We were able to help the school purchase books, CDs, and listening centers. This program was aimed primarily at the English program, although FLE and ESL classes have also benefited from it. This year we will focus on the French needs by purchasing books and CDs in French. Depending on how much we raise, we would also like to be able to purchase DVDs in both French and English. All of these would go to the School Library at Larchmont which is scheduled for refurbishment and upgrades over the summer.
Who can participate?
ANYONE! Please tell your friends, family, neighbors and fellow workers about this great deal. All you have to do is present the voucher attached or quote the code « 270926 » in order to have your purchase credited to the FASNY total. You don't have to be a FASNY family. All purchases of books, games, DVD's, CD's, music, food, drinks, magazines are included.
When will this happen?
The Summer Reading Festival will be held Wednesday, May 28, from 10am to 10pm at Barnes § Noble stores across the US.
Are there special festival activities that day?
Absolutely! During the day, we will be holding a series of events at Barnes § Noble in White Plains, so come join us. We have a wonderful schedule of book-related events planned, so organize your friends to meet there for coffee and a chat, and bring your children after lunch !

There will also be a special section for ESL books as well as tables of recommended reading by grade as communicated by the school. Come and consult with an English teacher to choose your summer reading. You may even find your child's English teacher there and seek his/her advice.
What can YOU do?

Make this a fun thing to do after school on Wednesday by organizing a group and coming for lunch and participating in the activities. Sign-up sheets for the children's spelling-bee and quiz have been placed in the cafeteria at Larchmont. Please check with your children to see if they have signed up. If they haven't, perhaps encourage them to do so. See you there!
