On behalf of the French-American associations Westchester Accueil and New York Accueil, we are delighted to present the second edition of the Charity Road Rally, " Les Milles Bornes of New York".
Let us first thank the entire crew from the 2008 edition. Not only they picked, totally unbiased, the best team that won last year as organizers but more importantly they established a clear milestone that needs only to be beaten. They raised slightly over 20,000 USD for the charity foundation " Hour Children" www.hourchildren.org, which supports children whose mothers are serving time in New-York prisons.
This year again, all the benefits of the rally will go to "Hour Children".
… So this rally …. " What is it about?", " How can you participate and win ?", " How can you help?" ..
1/ What is it about?
It is all about racing without speeding, finding your way according to a very surprising and … confidential road map… made of cultural, artistic, athletic, fun, creative challenges.
It will take place on May 30th, 2009 from 8AM to 4PM for the rally …. and from 8PM …to the very last bottle for the memorable party. Call it the gala of the year !
The contest starts right now. You have to assemble your team. Pick a name and work on your theme (costumes / car painting / choreography / video / song and everything your collective creative brain will come up to.
As a matter of fact, you'll have to pass many challenges thoughout that very day and the more prepared you are, the better the first impression will be … and as in many things the first impression in the morning will be decisive for the overall day.
This year our theme is intentionally broad " ROCK AND LOVE ". Isn't it spotted on to forget all the grey and gloom of the beginning of 2009?
You will fish in and pick your own interpretation. When you will register, you'll have to let the organization team know your group name announcing your overall variation. Organization will manage diversity. (e.g : avoiding duplicates).
2/ How can you participate and win ?
To apply to the rally part :
• Have a car or a squad of motorcycles …
• Have a team of up to 8 peoples, at least 15 years old,
• Have a group name …and plenty of creative ideas to support it,
• Register and pay 70 USD / Person (note that this include your entry pass for the gala party)
• Have fun.
For the party :
• Dress up in Black and Red … Rock and Love,
• Anyone can participate (e. : even if not part of the rally)
• In case you are not part of a rally team, register for the Party only and pay 50 USD / Person.
To win, you'll have to accumulate points during the all day. Every aspect counts, your theme, your scores, you .. having fun, your performances, but also your ideas to help the organization to maximize fund raising.
