FIAC = FOIRE INTERNATIONALE ART CONTEMPORAIN

We are delighted to present to you the list of exhibiting galleries of FIAC 2012 together with the highlights of cultural and artistic events on offer in Paris during FIAC that will take place from October 18th to October 21st (Preview on October 17th).
All FIAC 2012 exhibitors will show within the majestic landmark of the Grand Palais which incorporates, for the first time, the newly renovated Salon d’Honneur, historic heart of the architectural ensemble formed by the Grand Palais/Palais de la Découverte. The Naveand the Salon d’Honneur will house galleries specializing in modern and contemporary art. Level +1 will host contemporary art galleries, galleries representing the emerging art scene together with the Lafayette sector. 178 galleries representing 24 countries will exhibit at FIAC 2012.
FIAC 2012 continues to reinforce its identity, underpinned by the exceptional quality of the exhibiting galleries and that of the works on view, but also the unequalled prestige of its venues, their location in the heart of Paris and the close relationships that FIAC enjoys with the city’s leading cultural institutions.
Off-site exhibitions in the context of FIAC Hors les Murs programme will be presented in a number of prestigious Parisian venues. 2012 will see the inauguration of monumental outdoor sculptures presented at the Place Vendôme. For the seventh consecutive year, FIAC will collaborate with the Domaine national du Louvre & des Tuileries to invest theTuileries Gardens with a major ensemble of outdoor sculptures and installations. FIAC is equally proud to present its outdoor exhibition focusing on the theme of nature, biodiversity and the environment in the Jardin des plantes and the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle.
In addition to screenings held in the Grand Palais Auditorium, FIAC will present the programme of artists’ films in Cinéphémère in the Tuileries Gardens, organised in association with the Fondation d'Entreprise Ricard. Finally, as a complement toOuvertures/Openings, the programme of artists’ performances organised in association with the Auditorium of the Louvre Museum since 2008, FIAC will develop its cultural programme with a series of performances and conferences in various emblematic venues in Paris.
FIAC week will once again be marked by the rich diversity of artistic and cultural events in the city. Among the highlights of this autumn season: exhibitions of Bertrand Lavier, Adel Abdessemed and Mircea Cantor at Centre Pompidou, Michel Blazy at Le Plateau and Fabrice Hyber at MAC/VAL. The Grand Palais will present an exhibition of Edward Hopper; Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris will feature L’Art en guerre - France 1938-1947 - De Picasso à Dubuffet and the collection of Michael Werner, together with solo shows of Roman Ondak and Bertille Bak. La maison rouge will presentGiuliana & Tommaso Setari’s private collection; Jeu de Paume will show exhibitions ofManuel Álvarez Bravo and Antoni Muntadas. Slightly further afield, an unprecedented retrospective exhibition of wall drawings by Sol LeWitt will be on view at Centre Pompidou-Metz, and Lille 3000 will present Fantastic 2012.
Finally, the Palais de Tokyo will open "Dérives de l’imaginaire," the first thematic show to be held since the renovation of the building’s new spaces, making the institution one of the largest sites devoted to contemporary art in Europe with a total surface area of 22,000sq.m. Additionally, on show will be a new cycle of Modules as well as solo exhibitions of Fabrice Hyber, Markus Schinwald, Neil Beloufa, Damir Ocko and Ryan Gander together with East Side stories, contemporary Croatian videos in the framework of Festival d’Automne.
