2013 Governors Island Art Fair
4heads, Inc. | Deadline: June 1, 2013 | Fee (USD): $35.00
Curate a full room of your work at New York's largest independent art exhibition. Every weekend in September, 4heads presents the Governors Island Art Fair. GIAF offers single exhibition rooms to over 120 individual artists and galleries from around the globe. Every year many thousands of viewers visit this extensive exhibit housed in the landmark structures of historic Governors Island. GIAF is organized, produced, promoted and installed entirely by working artists and volunteers. Participants in the Fair are responsible for transporting, installing and de-installing their own works. Each artist or their representative is expected to be present to communicate with viewers during the run of the Fair. Before applying, you must be certain that you can meet these requirements.
All works exhibited in the Fair must be for sale. 4heads receives a 30% commission on all sales. Aside from the application fee and any personal costs incurred in transporting, installing and de-installing the show, there are no other required fees due from independent exhibiting artists.
ElleaimeNY's Blog is the result of the homework Laurence Neron-Bancel does to schedule her visits in cities around the world and during international artfairs, get inspiration for her collages; keep records of artists; an incomplete and arbitrary guide of events in and around Westchester, New York and elsewhere. It is less public than facebook and used as tool for LMCollage and LM Studio, the New artist's residency program just recently launched in Hyeres France If there's an event you'd like considered for inclusion, send your announcement to Laurenceneronbancel@gmail.com
There is no such thing as good painting about nothing.+ I’m not an abstractionist. I’m not interested in the relationship of color or form or anything else. I’m interested only in expressing basic human emotions: tragedy, ecstasy, doom, and so on.Mark ROTHKO
