Printed Matter   presents the sixth annual NY Art Book Fair, from September 30 to October 2, 2011, at MoMA PS1, Long Island City, Queens. A preview will be held on the evening of Thursday, September 29th. Free and open to the public, and featuring more than 200 exhibitors, the NY Art Book Fair is the world's premier event for artists’ books, contemporary art catalogs and monographs, art periodicals, and artist zines. Exhibitors include international presses, booksellers, antiquarian dealers, artists and independent publishers from twenty-one countries. Enfin un evenement qui a lieu pres de chez nous et auquel nous allons pouvoir nous rendre, et rencontrer au moins 2 artistes qui habitent pres de chez nous et que certaines d'entre nous non seulement connaissent bien mais aussi qui ont "craque" pour leurs oeuvres. Que rever de mieux pour une amoureuse de Lyon passionnee d'Art Contemporain? Avant d'aller acheter des oeuvres d'art avec tout l'argent que vous auriez du payer pour l'education de vos enfants (cf http://www.frenchmorning.com/ny/spip.php?article262 ), je suggererai la prudence.......mais en Septembre, si cela se confirme, alors nous irons ensemble faire notre shopping.. Il y a 15 jours je suis allee faire un tour a l' "Affordable Art Fair " ( http://www.aafnyc.com/ ) ou le prix des oeuvres devait etre de $10.000 au maximum.Avec un melange d' oeuvres d'artistes connus (sur papier et numerotes) ou d'artistes inconnus pas forcement jeunes ni emergents, il y avait de quoi se faire plaisir a partir de $500. L'art n'est pas inabordable, il suffit de chercher et de faire confiance a son gout. Basquiat a vendu ses tableaux dans la rue avant d'etre a Sotheby's ou Christie's. Que faisions nous a cette epoque?
