Warhol and Cars: American Icons March 6 – June 19, 2011 The Montclair Art Museum presents the first exhibition to examine Andy Warhol's enduring fascination with automotive vehicles as products of American consumer society. The show features more than 40 drawings, prints, photographs, and related archival documents spanning Warhol's career from 1946 to 1986, from his early work as a commercial illustrator to the seminal but little-known silkscreen painting Twelve Cadillacs (1962) to paintings and prints from his important and poignant Car Crash series to his work based on Volkswagen advertisements from the 1970s and 1980s and his BMW Art Race Car Projects .

Welcome to NEW JERSEY MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART (NJ MoCA)

Image
BRAVO ROBIN Welcome to NEW JERSEY MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART Still a twinkle in the eye but with development on a fast track, New Jersey Museum of Contemporary Art (NJ MoCA) will strive to present scholarly programming drawn from an international talent pool of contemporary artists and to provide enriching cultural, educational, outreach and social experiences that will captivate audiences in new ways, create a sense of community, enhance the lives of children and the underprivileged, and benefit the region. The encouragement from so many highly esteemed gallerists, collectors, curators, artists and critics for this far-reaching vision and unique positioning in New Jersey has been validating and greatly appreciated. Until the museum’s website is designed, we hope the information here will give some basic but rich insight into the genesis of what we hope will become an international destination for the contemporary arts.
