French artist Julie Béna invites gallery visitors to enter a transitional space on the threshold of science fiction and reality. This site-specific installation of sculptures, sound, images, and videos infiltrates and disrupts the FIAF Gallery and its surroundings. Remaining open and porous, each element functions as signs of a fiction to be imagined by the visitors.

This exhibition is held under the auspices of Atoll Corporation, a phantom company created by Béna that develops indexically, leaving traces throughout her projects.

About Julie Béna

Julie Béna (b.1982) is a Paris-based artist who treats the exhibition space as a playground for her objects, texts, videos, photos and performances. Borrowing from the language of theater, games, and popular culture, her work aims to disrupt and transform the mundane into the dramatic. Béna has exhibited work at the Palais de Tokyo, Fondation Ricard, 100% Transparent as part of Performa 13, and recently at Fahrenheit Los Angeles, where she presented Act 2 of Have you seen Pantopoon Rose?
