"From parents to parents: testimonials on bilingual education »
by Emmanuel Saint-Martin - Journalist, French Morning Editor
Emmanuel Saint Martin will give a testimony on bilingual education and present the "Guide de l’éducation bilingue"
The guide originated from of a double observation: yes, bilingualism offers undeniable benefits (social, professional, cognitive) but; even for a French family living in New York, raising bilingual children can be challenging.
The first part of the guide; "Bilingualism, how does it work", offers a series of articles exploring the questions of what happens in the brain of bilingual children, of educational models and possible family strategies. It also answers questions like "will he or she talk later" or "is it normal to mix languages?"
The second part of the guide is a comprehensive and exhaustive directory of all the institutions offering French bilingual programs in the New York area.
