In Celebration of Women's History Month | March 22, 6:30 -8 pm |
Gail Levin Noted author and Distinguished Professor of Art History, Gail Levin will conduct a discussion about her new biography of Lee Krasner and the issues relating to the documentation of women artists in history. LEE KRASNER A BIOGRAPHY Copies of the book are available for short-term loan from the gallery. Gail Levin's biography of Lee Krasner beautifully evokes a period in American art that laid the groundwork for the women artists of today. Lee, who was my mother's close friend in art school (the National Academy of Design), not only contributed wonderful work but also encouraged a whole new generation of artists. She grew into true generativity. Bless her and her biographer! Erica Jong Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 6:30pm Free but reservations required as seating is limited.
