GROUP SHOW WINTER 2007.
Save the date for the following event organized by my friend REYNA HENAINE, who is an incredible help for LMNY outings and was really involved in the creation of LMNY.
New York, NY -Reyna Henaine in collaboration with Antena Estudio present the group show exhibition Winter 2007, featuring new work by four figurative contemporary Mexican artists. The exhibition opening reception is on Thursday November 15, 2007 and will remain on view through December 15th (by appointment only).
GROUP SHOW WINTER 2007.
126 W 22nd St. 5N, New York, NY 10011
Opening reception
November 15, 2007 6:00 to 9:00pm
Abaham Jiménez, Andrés Basurto and Escoto- Carrara.
Abraham Jiménez combines classical painting techniques and his own visual vocabulary to generate different types of scenes that are derived from a particular character, in which humor and the absurd manifest themselves in a world of reality and fiction.
Andrés Basurto's work is characterized for the use of specific facial features that express different emotions that are created by the human face. His technique concentrates in close up details that exalt the grotesque and the beauty of his subjects, bringing the observer intimately and emotionally close to the piece.
Federico Escoto and Roberto Carrara better known as Escoto-Carrara, work almost exclusively as a pair. Their work depicts the human figure in order to exalt its feminine qualities. Combining digital and traditional photography with a photo-realistic painting technique they create situations that are set in a timeless atmosphere, dealing with the sacred, the occult, and the ethereal without being intangible.
